Russia’s most underground nightclub goes virtual – the infamous ‘techno bunker’ RAF25 to be turned into a 3D model and sold as NFT.
The venue occupies the premises of a soviet bomb shelter and is located in St Petersburg, Russia. It’s basically an underground labyrinth full of dark panic rooms. Musically speaking, it’s regarded as an absolute must within the techno scene.
During its glory days, it gained tremendous support from both local and international communities, which made it the most popular Russian venue to ever be listed on Resident Advisor.
The police raids were getting more and more brutal – more of our staff got beaten, more of our stuff got broken. The cops wanted to control the venue, financially and ideologically. The most elegant way out of the situation, as we decided, was to move the venue into the virtual realm. We will continue making techno events internationally, RAF25 will live on in virtual reality and the bunker will be sealed for good. The only question left is the ownership of the virtual venue – and that’s when NFT comes into play.

The venue is thoroughly modelled and rendered. A video of its virtual interiors is turned into an NFT.
The NFT is listed on a marketplace. The auction goes live.
PR campaign starts. We reach out to the media outlets both from crypto and music worlds. Things might get political at this point.
The auction ends on May 31st, the physical venue is sealed at the same time. Apart from the NFT, the winner gets gigabytes worth of 3D material bundled into a VR-ready Unreal Engine package.
